Miss Silva is one of the newest additions to the Liberty Team; and, without a doubt, the perfect addition!  The Kindergarteners and their families have fallen in love with her infectious smile, sweet personality, and her gift of working with children.  Saydel was born in California, but soon after, her family moved here to the Walla Walla Valley.  She recently graduated from Walla Walla University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish.  When she's not "Miss Silva" in front of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, exercising and drinking a good cup of coffee!  Most of all though, Saydel LOVES to travel!  She has not only been all over the United States, but has also visited Thailand, Spain, Korea, Germany, and Mexico.  Speaking of Mexico, she and her family are planning a trip there in December where she will become Mrs. Wold. :)

Mrs. Hoe joined the Liberty team 8 years ago and taught the fifth and sixth grades before moving on to teach the third and fourth grades, where she is now. Mrs. Hoe is definitely a “favorite” in the building with her sweet and gentle spirit and her beautiful love for the Lord. Her desire to see every child grow closer to our Savior and to experience the love of Christ is evident in everything that she does. Mrs. Hoe grew up in North Dakota and Minnesota and joined the NDARNG when she was 18. She remained in the guard for 12 years. She then graduated from the University of Mary in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education. She married the love of her life (aka Mr. Hoe) in 1995, had 4 children and was a full-time mom. In 2006, they moved their family to Romania and pastored a Calvary Chapel in the city of Brasov. Two years later, they moved here to Walla Walla and joined the Liberty Christian team. Besides hanging out with her family, Mrs. Hoe loves coffee, tea, Creme Brule, decorating, planting things, reading, cooking and being loved by Jesus! We don’t know what we would do without Mrs. Hoe on our team!

Mr. Pies is a favorite fixture among the students at Liberty! He was first introduced to our school in the 2013/2014 school year when he did his student teaching with the 3rd and 4th grades. The children and staff alike quickly fell in love with Mr. Pies’ fun personality and his love for Jesus. He officially joined Liberty’s team in 2014 as the 5th/6th grade teacher and Athletic Director. Before teaching, Mr. Pies served in the Air Force from 1999 to 2005 as a carpenter. He completed tours in Germany and Utah and was deployed to Pakistan in 2004. He earned his Associate in Arts degree from Walla Walla Community College in 2009 and took additional science classes such as Anatomy and Physiology l & ll, Microbiology and Chemistry. He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts Interdisciplinary Studies in elementary education from Western Governors University in 2014.  Currently, he is working on obtaining his Masters in Pastoral Leadership.  He and his wife, Tiffany, have seven great and very busy children who all attend Life Church here in Walla Walla.  Mr. Pies' favorite thing about Liberty is that he won't lose his job for talking about our Lord.  He knows that the best way to change the world is to prepare the next generation!

Mrs. Herrera is the bright and cheery face that will you first see when walking into Liberty!  She manages everything from what goes home in your children's folders to making sure every event happens in the right place and the right time!  She is phenomenal at keeping everyone organized and everything running smoothly.  Sarah is an alum of Liberty Christian and grew up here in the Walla Walla Valley.  She and her husband, Rick, have 4 kiddos who all attend Liberty.  When she's not managing the school, she loves to read, camp, craft, and hang out on Pinterest!
